cheat, use the sunless tan or use spray on tan

Which may damage your skin as well.

Well it is all about eating tomatoes.

Here is a good article about it.

well the best way to get a perfect tan without damaging your skin is to start off using high SPF eg,30 and eventually bringing down the number eg after four days use SPF20  and bringing it down to 15 but go no lower than SPF 10 AND ON EXTREMELY HOT DAYS LIKE INTO THE HIGH 30'S AND INTO THE 40'S CELCIUS USE VERY HIGH PROTECTION REGARDLESS OF YOUR TANNING PLAN

unfortunatly there is no save way of pretecting your skin aswell as getting a nice tan. the u.v rayes can realy damage your skin witch is why people where sun loctoin.

UVA rays are what trigger melanin production in our bodies, which turns skin cells brown. However UVA is also what can penetrate past your layers of skin and into the blood stream, causing immune system difficiency and essentially causing melanoma (skin cancer). Tanning is risky and impossible to do without damage. Remember: tan=damaged skin. (No matter how nice it may look). Personally, I go with spf 10 because I love tanning but it at least keeps some of the rays out.

Use an appropriate Tan Lotion for your skin, I use SPF 20 is works good with my skin, but is not enough for my friend.

So do some trial and error to identify the best SPF for you.
