Can I sue Wegman's or the manager of the departments because he told me to put gloves over my ears?

I don't think you can sue for a ridiculous order.  You might complain to the president, or Human Resources, to see if you can get an apology.

Why put gloves over your ears?  To avoid hearing obscenities?  The obscenities might be a hostile work environment. You might be able to collect unemployment as though they had fired you without cause if you quit because of it.
