istly you should have clear understanding that what is a point estimate. it is a value of statistic that is used to estimate a pop parameter.this value is called a point estimate of the parameter e.g sample mean is the point estimate of population mean,the sample proportion is the point estimate of the pop parameter and sample variance is a point estimate of pop variance.

example:specify the estimator and estimate in each of the following

a sample of 35 students gave an avg hieght of 62 inch.

in the above statement 35 is the estimator avg height is point estimator and 62 is an estimate.
