The biggest pro to get into franchising is all of the support, training and resources that are provided.  Also, if you join a well known franchise getting to use their brand.  On the other hand, the drawback is just cost.  The cost of the franchise fee to join the system and the ongoing royalties.  However, the royalties are usually worth their cost compared to the support and resources that you should be receiving.  There are great articles on franchising at http://www.getintofranchising.com
