I can't really tell you how to do the business of selling to supermarkets. I have no experience in that area. However, I can advise in in an area I do have experience in. You will need three very important things to start. You will need to get your business license from the city, a tax number from the state, and you will need to have your kitchen inspected so that you can get a passing inspection from the health department. And before you do that, you'll; need to contact the health department to get a copy of their regulations and standards so that you'll know exactly how to bring your kitchen up to their standards. This means things like cleanliness, safety, proper storage, refrigerators that are below a certain temperature, etc.

I do wish you the best of luck. Having owned my own restaurant for a time, I know what hard work it is.

You might also check into making a business plan so that you can, perhaps, get assistance from the Small Business Administration. You might contact them anyway. They can offer many services and assistance to help you start and build your business.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.
The best thing is to find the ideal business location to sell at. No matter what is being sold, the location of the business is the most important to the success of your business. For instance, to sell food it might be best to sell somewhere where you are sure to find your target market; people who like that type of food, and are going to be hungry.
