Dea Elden The star you see in the morning when you look east is Venus

The planet Mercury is the closer planet to the Sun. Therefore you can see it only early in the morning (before sunrise) ,or at evening (immediately after sunset). I presume You saw Mercury.

if the question is what STAR (not planet) then i think (i might be wrong here) that you see Altair, if i remember right it's it the morning star, as for planets, venus is now on the other side of the sun so i think you see Mercury or Mars who is now at it's closest position (happens once every 2 years)

The sky is not THE LIMIT, the sky is Just a limit....Think Askew!!!
