MARYVALE HIGH SCHOOL, CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. PE SWIMMING NUDE. Does anyone remember us boys swimming nude in class in the 1960's. My friends here in Vermont don't believe it when I tell them.

Boy, do I remember us boys swimming nude during PE class at Maryvale Senior High School from 1961 through 1963.. I had come from Lancaster Central High School where we were issued laundered bathing suits before every swimming class. I entered Maryvale during my junior year and was shocked to find out that we had to swim nude. It was my worst nightmare and still haunts me to this day (at 67 years of age). I'm still angry over being forced into doing it for two years. I wish I had made a stink and told my parents who would have been livid. They would have raised holy hell. I was ashamed to tell anyone at the time. During my two years in the Army I was never subjected to anything like this. We had more privacy in the Army than in high school. I would have really good memories of Maryvale High School if it hadn't been for this unfortunate situation.
