Should I split the rest of my community college career into 2 semesters?

I have 16 more credits to earn. My plan was to graduate in December and transfer to a university next spring. However, one of the two schools (they are the only options I have) I plan to apply to only accepts people into my desired program for fall semesters. I told my dad this and he said that I should split my credits into 2 semesters so that I have more time to work on my portfolio (I want to make films and TV shows). Is that a good idea?

Not enough information.  For example you didn't tell us if you even need to work on your portfolio at all. Do you?

Generally speaking, do you trust your Dad?  Is he a wise man and does he have your best interest at heart?   If it seems reasonable, then trust him and take his advice.

I think that's probably a good idea.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.
