Why have a spiritual retreat?

there are 2 types of people who go to church every. one type is a religious type, who attends every week puts a goo peny in the basket, then leve at the end a get on with their lives until the next  service.

  the 2nd type are the spiritual people of which i am one. usually something happens that makes you more aware of God and his teachings. this group attends church every week  and try to live the life the homilist preached, about Jesus or one of the apostles and take what they heard in church and try to live it till the next mass. i believe that being spiritual is a notch above being religious, but both will get you into heaven, after a much shorter stay inpurgatorywhere our souls will be purified by fire

a spiritual retreat cleanses our souls and our bodies. they usually last 3 days and consist of a series of prayer or listening to the retreat master. a walking trip to say the rosary and one to visit the stations of the cross. thereis a lot of time for private prayer or counseling. after 3 days you leave the retreat house. feeling better than you have in awhile  you feel the presence of God surrounding you and the spirit guarding ou. it's very hard to describe how it affected you, but your wife and famil will definitely notice a peace surrounding you

Why does anyone retreat?
Because you're getting your ass kicked, and you need a break.
You take a spiritual retreat because your spirit is getting it's ass kicked, and it needs a break to replenish and refuel.

Atheists retreat to their gulags to persecute homosexuals and kill witches. On no, wait, that was Christians. Sorry.

Why would any one come here of all places for a serious question regarding Religion?

 Go to a Catholic website  to get the right answers if your really serious about your subject..   

We all need a place of solace and peaceful truth now and then.  When we retire momentarily to a place of peace and solace, it is to leave behind the insane rancor of bitter and angry old atheists.

Truly, it is time well invested.  We return with the victory well won and the triumph of the spirit well in order.

Spiritual retreats exist for every legitimate faith.  In some cases we must restrict attendance to persons we have specifically invited. 

We do this to deal with the stresses caused by obnoxious persons who walk in off the streets.  There is enough annoyance in life to make spiritual retreats a moral imperative.

We who bring healing to others through God's Love and nature's herbs must ourselves be calm and healthy.  No one can be calm and healthy with bitter leftists constantly spewing negativity, venom, and hate.

To minister to leftists we must be serene in the face of their wild-eyed bitterness and poisonous constant agitation.

I returned a few days ago from a business trip in Europe.  The media report such rancor over our upcoming General Election that they claim it is time to take out special life insurance coverage against the use of nuclear weapons on Americans by Americans, with the fallout drifting over Europe. 

Athenos Trivita ran calculations that fallout from our nuclear weapons could reach as far as the nuclear fallout from the Chernobyl disaster.

Already, Russian and Iranian forces are on high alert as they contemplate military action against America when we are at our weakest, following a civil war.

I believe we will have a peaceful transition of power from the Democrats to the Republicans, restoratin of our lost Constitutional government (absent for the last three destitute years) and shortly thereafter renewed unity in America as we saw with Reagan and Bush.

Being the eternal optimist, I hope we have that peaceful transition.
