Discuss Mark Thomas's answer to: Is speaking in tongues simply a whole load of ...

Is speaking in tongues simply a whole load of gibberish? Should we regard every gibber as the true word of God? If someone writes and regurgitates a whole load of gibberish from the Bible, is ...

The Bible clearly teaches that speaking in tongues is the sudden ability to speak in another KNOWN language of the world that you normally couldn't speak, in order to further the gospel message to other nations.

This gibberish that is spoken in many churches today is Satan's counterfeit tongues.

Paul said that tongues are for a sign to non believers.  Now how can speaking in gibberish be a sign?  People just think you were crazy if you spoke in gibberish.  No, true Bible tongues is speaking in another language to further the gospel to other nations.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names can break my heart".

Thank you for admitting the truth.  God gives us great ideas, not just the ability to speak the other person's language when it is needed.

One man I met in the service looked like he was about to kill himself.  We spoke awhile, and then I realized I wasn't the one speaking.  The words that came out were what he needed to hear.

"If you plan to rest your spirit, come home in spirit.  Leave the miseries of combat behind you.  You are home now.  Forget the evils of the past but remember that you became a stronger man by your trials."

It made sense.  He turned in his unauthorized weapon back into the armory, took Honorable discharge, and made something great out of his once ruined life.

If you give God room to work, you will see great things happen.
