I noticed when I bought a jar of nuts they were packed in a container with an air tight cover.

When I kept unshelled nuts on the table they became soggy. You can always roast them to make them tasty again.

If you haven't already I would get that checked out by a doctor, there could be some problem with your prostate or with the nut itself. I'm no doctor but I do know that having your nuts hurt really sucks, so I would get it looked at as quick as possible.
