I'm not sure what the question is, it's just the intro to a scenario, but if you lost the policies call the funeral home to check their records for policy info if they dealt directly with the insurance company or call the insurance company (provided you know the name of the company) with your sister's name, date of birth & social security number and they should have a record to get you a copy of the policy.
