Sew the holes smaller idiot, or sew on bigger buttons, or have your mother button it for you.
While I wouldn't have said it the way Stridersplace said it, I think your best option is to sew the holes smaller.
Take a needle & matching thread. Sew the button hole side to side (or top to bottom depending on which way the button is placed) as if you are trying to sew the button hole shut. This will tighten the button hole & your button's will stay buttoned. Good luck ! If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
Yes i was harsh, but what a stupid question. Then again, maybe, It was somebody who did not have a clue; my appologies.
Sew the button hole, make sure your thread will match the color of the shirt so that it will look beautiful as if nothing did the repair on it.
