When I click on the settings on my tool bar, it will not come up.It says it is temporarily unavailable. This has been going on for two months now. I have written before but did not get any ...

Is this your tool bar for the internet or is it for Microsoft Word or Excel? if it's the internet tool bar what you might try and do is uninstall the tool bar then reinstall it and see if that cure your problem. Sometimes when you get updates there may be one that for some reason interferes with one or more functions. Usually the update only messes with internal operations and not web functions but like I said uninstall the tool bar then go back and reinstall.

One other thing comes to mind if you haven't updated the search engine tool bar to the latest version that may cause problems. Stick with my first thought and see if that fixes things, it can't hurt anything to do it. If you have another search engine set up besides the one you are having problems with you may want to import all your bookmarks or favorites etc.. to that search engine then when you reinstall the tool bar on the search engine you like then you can import it back.

If you don't have another search engine set up; say you are using Internet Explorer 8 you may want to install Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox so that you can import all your bookmarks etc...

Hope this helps and I didn't confuse you. Let me know if it does help.

Hi Mike, read your comments, but I have another problem with AOL of course. I can't get my settings on the toolbar to come up for changes, you got any ideas?

Thanks

Jim

Jim...this 'question' is almost a year old...but this is a link on Aol Toolbar settings:

http://help.aol.com/help/microsites/microsite.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=217128

But I have found later versions of AOL to be full of faults, which is why I only use this earlier version (only if I absolutely must use it, which is very rare), AOL 9.0vr :

http://daol.aol.com/software/90vr

But first you need to remove all current AOL in the 'Add/Remove' programs in Control Panel. And as always when you remove a program you need to run your CCleaner 'Registry Fix'...several times until you see 'no problems found'....Don't worry about losing anything, AOL creates an 'AOL Saved PFC' Personal Filing Cabinet  icon folder to your desktop.
