Get back to good preaching.
Start with witty sermons, but do not end there. A proper Church home has all these things and more. Find the need of your community and meet that need. Meet that need with people who want to give and know what it takes to succeed.
*Youth work. Good Sunday School makes the difference. Go from preschool level to Seminary level material, taught by the members.
*Giving to the community. If you have philanthropic good works, you will attract conservatives who will evaluate your charitable works, and fund them generously. Speak to these people on their level, knowing that most are doctorates and postdocs.
*Singles, divorced, and new married ministries. Lonely persons will come to a clean and uplifting place much more quickly than they will to dubious dating net sites (although there are some good Christian net sites).
*Family ministries. Families in trouble and stable old fashioned families need to come together to compare notes. Those incurable old romantics know how to take unstable new families under their wing and make lots of good things happen.
*AA, NA, HA, and other "Anonymous" ministries bring frail people up and make them persons to admire.
*Foreign missions. Share the word by providing a good education for their youth. Until you can develop your own foreign missions outreach, cooperate with other established ministries like World Vision and Childfund.
*Peace ministries. Troubled youth in your community make the backbone of your developing church. The old lesson seen in "The Cross and the Switchblade" still hold true. Nicky Cruz Ministries can give you loads of help.
*Motivation ministries. Get with your local chapter of Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and put their proven wisdom to good use.
Atheists may oppose you (they always oppose all that is not purely evil) but do not let atheists stiop you from, making a positive contribution to your community by building your Church.
