Discuss Bonestructure's answer to: What can you do to know that you seen a ghost or spirit?

I do not understand physics.  I understand ghosts though.  I have helped several of them find peace.  It isn't easy but it is a humanistic duty that atheists always shirk because they are so very fearful of the unknown.

Only atheists have that unreasoning fear.  Rational persons deal with these matters rationally.

Bonestructure, tachyons exist.  However the physics of using them leaves a bit to be desired.  I would be glad to discuss tachyons with you except for the disruption of a racist named dfrogpong.

Ah, but you see, tachyons can't be used, at our present state of knowledge. That will increase. My feeling is that the element of tachyons which will be important is their seeming defiance of the uncertainty principle and the possible manipulation of that principle, and their seeming ability to function outside of time. My best guess for FL drive is to use wormholes. I think tachyons could be used to do that. How? I don't know. It's just a very solid feeling I have. Something like, if the singularity of a wormhole is a quantum string, we can travel along that string while separating mass and other elements into the different dimensions. What is it? are there 11 or 12 now? Okay, it's not actually ftl, it's short cutting using the quantum nature of space. But it would be perceived and function as FTL.

It may be long winded as AOL Answers goes but here is the short version of how Einstein Shock Boundaries work and why they are enough to make superluminal spacew travel just a bit difficult.  However, where there is a will, there is a way.  The thing is we have to get our heads out of the clouds and get chalk dust all over us to actually parse out these hassles.

The most important part of space travel, is trying to convince stupid Americans that space travel is worth the effort. It really pisses me off. By now, we should have permanent habitations of the moon and be exploring Mars. But for some reason, people seem to think it's a waste of money. And Goddess forbid they should ever grasp the technological and medical and many other benefits that came from space travel. Nor that, sooner or later, if mankind is to survive with any quality of life, we MUST move into at least our own solar system, and preferably further. It's really a pet peeve of mine, that so many people are just completely blind and willfully ignorant.
