One thing to keep in mind when wondering how many search engines have indexed your web site is that there are really only three search engines that really matter: Google, Yahoo, and MSN (Bing). About 98% of all search engine use takes place on those three search engines. Google is the clear leader among search engines, with about 81% of all searches being conducted on its site. When I recently started a new web site selling concert t shirts , vintage rock t shirts , and fun t-shirts for men , the FIRST thing I did was to submit my URL (web address) to Google . When I wanted to check to see if my web site was indexed (a few weeks later), I typed my website's domain name into Google's search field (in quotation marks), and clicked on the search button. If your website has not been indexed yet, the search results will say "no results found for (your domain name)". If you ARE indexed, then your web site should be the first one listed -- or one of the first ones listed -- on the search results page. I'd imagine the same technique would work for the other two major search engines, although I haven't tried it.
Hope that helps!
