Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. 

Way I read it, do each other decent.  If some body wants to make you look bad, they might put out some nasty word on you but if folks you know, know it ain't so, they will just laugh the chump off the street.

I gotta wonder why these gossipers think they get away with it.  Sooner or later it gets back and who ever it was went talking about you gets wind you are looking for him he gets real scarce real quick.
