When I was in elementary, my mom usually cooks me a vegetable and steak. Yummy!

Dont give him/her always the same kind of food. Much better if you'll add variety!

Three dollars.

Life is a one lap race. Make many pitstops.

Basically, (i have a research paper to type right now, so I don't have time to go into detail, unfortunately) I would give my child (thank goodness I'm smart enough to not have one yet!) healthy food that is tasty, wholesome, nutritious, and wouldn't require a knife or can opener, or microwave, for that matter-- oh, OR require that my child would have to use something to heat it [the food] up in order to make it fully edible to indulge in.

I'd choose foods like peanuts, yogurt, PB&J on whole grain bread, a granola bar, and an easy-to-eat fruit, or perhaps a freshly-prepared (as reasonable) bite-size-cut fruit medley in a (lunch box-appropriate size) container.

Also, I'd slip one of those little

"First eat the stuff that won't last until you get home, please.  You'll thank me for not giving you 'junk food' when you're older.  Enjoy your meal!

                                            Love always,

                                            Mom and Dad

P.S.  No hustling your food! " notes in his/her or their lunchbox(es).

Wow, I totally tricked myself into going into detail...Foot in mouth

this is taugh cos children are embarased to eat different food than teh majority

rools of healthy nutrition are rathere simple

as much as possible raw foods if not then boiled cooked in steam or grilled

the proteins would be a cup of yoghour no fruits inside just plain yoghourt 2%fat

other proteins would be one hard boiled egg

still other turkey or chicken breast of lof fat in sandwich

bread is rye or barley

mustard and ketchap with no sugar or salt is a spread

no margarines

maybe a little butter

a fruit of size big apple

so this can be done the way child would not be embarrased to eat in front of other children that would bring some supermaket junk foods

a yoghourt

a sandwich

a fruit

i forgot to say selad in sandwich like lettuce tomato slices or anything that can be sliced the way that chold would not be embarrased

ONTOP OF THIS ANY CHILD OVER FIVE IF PARENTS HAVE GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH IT CAN UNDERSTAND WHEN TALKED TO AS TO WHY THESE FOODS ARE GOOD WHY THE OTHERS ARE NOT AND MOST IMPORTANT AS TO WHY PEOPLE CONTINUE TO EAT BAD FOODS

THIS IS THE TOUGHEST FROM ALL COS THIS INCLUDES POLITICS INTEREST ETC

BUT IF U LOVE YR CHILD ULL FIND A WAY TO GET TO ITS HEART AND ASK IT WHAT OTHER CHILDREN EAT HOW THE FOOD LOOLS LIKE AND WHAT IT WANTS TO EAT FROM AS TO LOOKS OF THE FOOD

THEN U TRY TO MAKE IT LOOK ACCEPTABLE TO OTHER CHILDREN AND I AM SURE THAT A SANDWICH A YOGHOURT AND A FRUIT LOOK ACCEPTABLE AND THAT YR CHILD WILL NOT BE MOOCKED

There's no god and u know it!!!

You said there's no door, not that there's no lunch room. It might be nicer for the students if there was a large indoor lunch room, but I don't think it means the students are being harmed if there isn't.

What do you think of calorie camera?

This idea is great, Why not monitor child's eating pattern so that we can evaluate what kind of food is lacking in the child's diet.
