Not usual, but people can fall in love at first site. I did, and I still love the woman 30+ years later.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

It's common for guys to think they are in love and dosen't want the girl to move on, so they lay it out there and hope for the best. Some think if she likes him that's the best he can get so go for it.  Later they turn on the TV and fall in love again.

Saying "I love you" is another of those things that women claim they want from a guy, and then, they get upset when they actually get it.  Men can't win in the relationship game. 

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Saying it is not a bad idea as most of the girls want to hear it from guys. But it should be said after a great understanding. Many freaky guys say it too early that mean nothing but some attraction. Love and attraction both are different things.

It is possible to love someone the first moment the two people meet each other. To love the other the first time after two weeks of dating is late. According to my understanding, why even go for a date in the first place if the people don't love each other already.
