Salmon and cholesterol.

I just came from my doctor's office and he complimented me on dropping 11 pounds since my last visit. He asked me what I did and I told him that I changed my diet to include fish, mostly salmon, fresh vegetables, and nuts. He then told me that salmon was high in cholesterol. Everything that I have read about salmon states it lowers your cholesterol.

My question is: Is salmon hign in cholesterol or will it raise your cholesterol?

Salmon is a double edged sword. Your doctor was right that it has cholesterol (like all sea food) but Salmon is an excellent source of Omega three fatty acids that are cardio protective. Moderate amount of salmon is good.
