Discuss Rocmike3's answer to: When it is all said and done . . ..

Background: We all face a conclusion. I look back on a life of adventure, mountaintop experiences, the heights of joy and the pit of fear. I have no regrets. The grim reaper isn't evil. ...

My husband, Mike, was everything a man should be.  He was a devout Christian, loving husband, loyal father, and a heroic warrior.

He slipped into a coma yesterday at 3:22 P.M.  At his direction we withdrew life support.  He passed away a few minutes later.  At his direction, he will be cremated on the premises.  He asked everyone not to grieve.

His last words were that he knew a better world awaited, and that there would be no parting anymore.  We will hold private services for the family.

Our sons, Mike Jr. and Ryan miss him terribly, as I do.

Yours,

Patricia S. Dykes.

I am not as prevelant on Yedda as I once was however I am deeply grieved to know that Rocmike has left us and I certainly remember how we fought Muslims and Atheists and all we held as enemies back to back and side by side with others on Yedda.

My respect and joy in having bantered with him and enjoyed his wisdom can not be emphasized enough.

I leave him with this because I believe he lived it well:

"Come, fill the Cup, and

in the Fire of Spring

The Winter Garment of Re-

pentance fling:

The Bird of time has but a little way

To fly---and Lo! the Bird is on the Wing."

Deep Regards

Rocmike why do all of your aliases go to questions and answers no one has been on in a long time? AP-Ladydarko does the same thing. Could it be you are the same poster? You have one sad lonely life.

I will say that Marines take no guff off any man nor do we coddle.  As I hear it, he was a SSgt at discharge at six years service.  His words tell me that he had the makings of a thirty year career man, except for the end of the Vietnam War.

He excelled by all reports, with a Ph.D degree and several businesses, additing to his civil service of a highly classified nature.

What are we to say?

The Marine Corps brings out the best and the worst in us all, but in the greater sense so does mortality.

RIP, Rocmike3.  The Fleet Marine Force, Eternal, has need of the few, the best, the Marines.
