For starters, someone with good linguistic skills does not need to ask the same question 3 times. Once would be enough.

Look at the person's choice of words.  Are they simple and direct?  Are they collegiate vocabulary or indirect?

Direct personality types speak more bluntly than indirects.  The latter can show integrity and cognition issues.

What roles do linguistics, psychology, and other social sciences have in information gathering, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination?

Pardon that I have corrected the grammar spelling and punctuation for the sake of clarity.

Linguistics (aka language) is a means of communicating ideas one person to another.  Interaction is the factor that makes language a complete form of communication (as with words and gestures used in conjunction to express a meaning).

Psychology is the study of the human mind.  It is what we feel, as well as what we know, and how the body interacts with these feelings.  Psychiatry adds the element of medicine to the study of the mind.

Sociology is the study of society, culture, and relations with our neighbors.  Sociology brings issues of history, patterns of conduct between people, and motivation into the study of the human mind.

Information gathering (sensation) allows us to read more than what is written in books: we also learn how to read what is going on around us and understand its hidden meaning.

Interpretation is to fully understand all that is going on within and around us.  That is the artist's mind and the philosopher's equation brought together for genuine benefit.

Dissemination is the art and science of expressing oneself clearly and accurately.

"The perfect education does not exist.  We are well off to understand what we can and communicate the facts as best we can understand them.  That strange little feeling you get when someone is lying to you is evidence that you have brought it all together and gained real wisdom in the process."  Isaac Newton.
