Discuss Brownie's answer to: Riding a horse after hip replacement

Will going horseback riding be bad for a 2-year-old hip replacement?

I am not a doctor, as a matter of fact, I am a hip relpacement patient. Surgery 10 years ago and doing fine, still obeying the 90s rules.  I am about to start riding again, and have the same questions.  I feel weak in the hip/lower back area, so plan on starting with mild walking trail rides to build strength.  I think as long as I obey the 90s and dont fall off, I can only get stronger.  I hope more folks see this post and provide some feed back; I will update as we get into spring and I get more practice. I rode ALOT when young, so it is all coming back to me- muscle memory is long and strong.  good luck
