How to get rid of leeches?

If you are referring to the bloodsucking type leech that attaches to people and animals, and if you are asking how to detach them, saturate a paper towel, paper napkin, or clean rag with either household ammonia cleaner or a chlorine based bleach such as Clorox, and hold it on the leech for a minute or two.  It will almost always detach and most of the time it will die.  Another method is to use regular table or pickling salt, hold a small container of salt over the leech for a couple of minutes.  The leech will dehydrate and die, then it can easily be removed.  Be sure to clean the bite and treat it with a good antibiotic, such as Neosporin or something similar.
