Discuss AOLMailMat's answer to: Return address error

My recent emails that I sent no longer contain my email address, but a 2 instead. How can I change this?

It sounds like you need to change your Display Name in AOL Mail.  To do this, try logging into http://mail.aol.com/ and clicking 'Settings' near the top right of the screen.  Then, click the 'Compose' tab to the left of the screen, which should bring up, among other things, the option to change "Your 'From' Name."  Change this to your desired name and click save.
