Retirement advice

I am 61yrs old and I want to retire within a yr.I have $350.000 in the bank,$350.000 in a 401k plan, and with my pension and social security i will receive approx $6000.00 a month. I would like to buy a house for $170.000 should I pay cash or take a mortage? What other measures do you think I should take.

If I were in your shoes, I would pay cash for the house so you don't have to pay any interest.

    Go to daveramsey.com.  He has given great advices to people like you in terms of investments.  He has financial advisers in different cities and you can consult them.

Be honest and be true to yourself.
