This is not a question, just a warning. Although Quickbooks sells its Premier Retail Edition as a great tool for retailers, it is quite the opposite. I have been using Quickbooks for my retail store for only 3 years, when I ran into the problem of only being able to have 14,500 items on my inventory list. The limit of 14,500 items is just an unfathomable joke when you are in retailing. Because we continually have changing merchandise, it does not take long to acquire 14,500 skus. "Can't you delete items you no longer carry in your store?", one might ask. No, is the absolute answer. Once an item #, or sku, is used in an invoice, purchase order, etc, you cannot delete it. Here's the good news.....now Quickbooks has you at this point. You can choose to pay them $3000.00 for "Enterprise Solutions" to have an unlimited number of items or supposedly purchase their Point of Sale programs, which may, or may not give you unlimited skus (I haven't tried it yet, but am now forced into it). This also applies to Quickbooks Pro. I just thought I would pass this on to anyone considering Quickbooks for their "retail needs".
