How do you find one of these turtles to adopt? I would love to have a box turtle. I have dealt with red earred sliders before but they tend to get snappy when they gain adulthood.

Go to your computer and type in "Turtle adoptions". There are organizations that will allow you to adopt a turtle but you will have to pay a fee so they know you are sincere.

You can search on google about turtle adoption in your area, or go to local animal shelter in your area. Good luck.

you should never take a wild turtle from nature. There are many many turtle rescue places on-line that you can adopt a turtle in your state.
