How to Report Abuse

I tried to report a suspicious EMail to the abuse@aol.com address, and received the below message.  Is there something wrong with the Email address?  If so, how do we report abuse and confirm if Email messages from aol.com addresses are legitimate?

The message was not sent because of an error with the address "abuse@aol.com".
