I have this samsonite carry-on luggage, its about 12 years old and in great condition body-wise. it has sentimental value, my sis bought it for me and she is no longer with us. the plastic wheels have become brittle and pieces have cracked off. I guess i can take it to a luggage repair or try to repair it myself with cool wheels, like a skate wheel. I dont see how to take the wheels off. anybody has any suggestions?
If it has so much meaning for you it would be best to have Samsonite do the repair.
Hi, I saw your post when I was looking for info on how to repair my 10 year old samsonite carry-on luggage. I couldn't get any wheels to fix the one which lost its rubber so after dismantling the wheel (remove inner cover and use torx screw drivers) which was only slightly difficult as it has a circlip on the inside which I just pride off, i went to the nearest ironmonger.
I bought two caster wheels of real sturdy quality which were just slightly smaller but fit (after leaving out one side spacer that the original wheel had). Works perfectly and the wheels are probably better quality than the original!
You can definitely repair that luggage if you have such an emotional attachment. However if you would like to buy new luggage in future then visit Bergman Luggage. Recently I bought new Samsonite pixel Cube luggage from Bergman at discount rates. They have latest collection from Samsonite and other leading luggage brands.
