I would like to replace my bedroom door. The door that would match my other doors doesn't come (pre-hung) with the knob/lock holes. How do you put the holes in the door?

Drilling the lockset hole would be the simple part. Mortising the hinges to match is going to be difficult. It's tough to measure where they go. Remove the old door first then set it side by side with the lockset hole facing down. Then use a square to align where to mortise the hinges. Using the old hinges as a template. Draw a pattern on the new door. Use a chisel to remove the material and install the hinges.
