How Do You Remember Elizabeth Taylor?

I was really stoked with her in the movie Cleopatra. And that's how i remember her, Cleopatra. RIP Elizabeth Taylor. 

Beautiful when she was young, but it didn't last long. The ugliness of her heart and soul was quick to show on her face. Even after 3 facelifts and a ton of other surgical procedures and dermatological procedures to maintain her short lived beauty, it still could not erase the ugliness in her soul.  

Other than that I remember her as a lustful, greedy bitch. She lavished herself with millions of dollars in jewelry, clothes and properties. She only did charitable work and "gave" when it garnered her favorable publicity. She was a very self-centered, selfish, egotistical pathetic human being.

An icon? Not even close! Just a homewrecking, slut who didn't give a damn about anyone but herself. (hence all the marriages and men she went through.)

She was a beautiful Actress that was able to chance her persona from Role to Role, and may she Rest in Peace.

Elizabeth Taylor took center stage when she walked into a room - even if someone else was already there.

Sammy Davis Jr. learned that the hard way in the early 1960s, when the singer and Rat Packer performed at Jules Podell's Copacabana on the night Taylor dropped in with her brand new beau, Richard Burton.

Press agent Sy Presten, who repped the iconic club at the time, got a tip Taylor and Burton, who had just landed in New York after filming "Cleopatra," planned to visit the club.

Taylor, who played the title role, and Burton, who portrayed Mark Antony, weren't just co-stars of the infamous sword-and-sandal epic.

During filming, the two began a very public affair, even though Taylor was married to singer Eddie Fisher - having stolen him away from Debbie Reynolds, America's sweetheart of the moment. The resulting scandal and moral outrage made headlines around the world.

So, Presten says with a laugh, "I kindly alerted the press."

Since the night of their visit coincided with the opening night of Davis' engagement at the club, the Copa was "absolutely a mob scene."

Then, shortly before the show began, Taylor's husband, Eddie Fisher, unexpectedly walked in with another woman on his arm.

Presten says he had "no idea" Fisher was coming. All he could do was watch the crowd's reaction when Taylor and Burton made their entrance many minutes later - after Davis was well into his set.

"People's eyes were bulging out of their heads," Presten recalls. "They were looking at Taylor and Burton then back at Fisher and his date as if it were a Ping-Pong match!"

Even Davis noticed, briefly interrupting his song to say, "Here I am, singing out my Jewish heart and nobody's listening!"

I had known of her marriage to Eddie Fisher, but never realized that she had converted for him, and his Daughter had said that when she called her to tell her of his Death that she cried, so she really must have cared for him..

Didn't know that she was ill as a child, you find out so much after someone is gone..

She will always remain an unfortunate victim of publicity overdoes to me. Her work was wonderful, but she succumbed to her larger than life persona which had a terrible impact on her relationships. She did NOT die a happy woman. Very unfortunate!

From what I had heard, she did a lot of selfless Charity work and a very giving person, may she Rest in Peace..
