Discuss MikeC's answer to: Best Religion

Which religion should I convert to?

Njoy You said,"My statement stands: Jesus, while here on earth (physically) was never a Christian. He was a Jewish man. A compassionate and intelligent thinker, and he knew who he was in relationship to God. He shared that news to his own peril."

I am trying to tell you that the name Christian means only to believe in Christ, God himself in the flesh. To say that Christ is not a Christian is like saying that a horse is not a mammal. Christ was born of a Jew and that is it. Christ was not of the Jewish faith, Christ is the Jewish faith, they (the Jews) just don’t believe it. Christ had no relationship with God, Christ was and is God both in mind and spirit. Christ new he would not be excepted as the voice of God on earth and He expressed that.

Son of God is only a reference to the human host made availably by God himself for himself. It was God talking to those who would listen. Christ Jesus was not a prophet, a compassionate and intelligent thinker as in the terms of mankind, he was and is the objective to all those who seek the creator. Christ is the Word ! from the beginning.

Nothing is as it seem's.

Dear Mike;

Please understand something based on the facts; it is not belief, it is the facts. G-d said it, I read it, I accept and believe what He told us.

As for Jesus being a Jew? Can you show one verse where he converted to another faith? If not, then Njoy's statement stands.

Shalom;

Yechiel

Yechiel Jesus was born to a Jewish Mother. Jesus did not belong to any faith. Jewish of otherwise. The genetics of the male heritage never existed in Jesus. This is hard for me to convey. Mary was made fertile by God himself. I know you don't believe that but I do.

There is no religion God believes in, there is only the religion man believes in and that religion is to procure God . God is a fact with nothing higher to believe in, he does not need to procure himself. God is our objective and humanity to be with Him, is His.

Dear Mike;

It does not matter. His mother was Jewish, so he was. As far as we can read, Jesus never changed his religion, so he lived,taught and died a Jew.

That is what the Gospels say.

 Teaching about the Nation of Israel

Jews believe that, for all time, they will remain God’s chosen people according to the covenant with Abraham. In particular, they look forward to the reign of the Messiah on earth, during which time Jews will always have a favored status over non-Jews. Non-Jews may receive some benefits of the Messiah’s kingdom, but never as fully as Jews do. Jews must always receive dominant blessings.

Non-Jews can receive eternal reward after the Messianic age, if they meet certain conditions; but Jews are born to receive that destiny. Jews reject any doctrine which gives Gentiles equal standing with Jews in the Messianic kingdom or which affirms Jews and Gentiles will receive their eternal rewards on the basis of the same conditions.

Consider the Bible teaching about these points.

A. The Old Testament Prophesied that Gentiles Would Receive the Blessings Offered by the Messiah.

As is characteristic of prophecy, these truths are not stated as clearly as in the New Testament fulfillment. But when viewed in light of first-century events, the meaning of the prophecies is clear.

Isaiah 49:6 - The servant (Messiah) who would restore Israel, would also be a light to the Gentiles and extend salvation throughout the earth. This is cited in Acts 13:47 showing the blessings of Jesus were for Gentiles too.

Amos 9:11,12 - When God restores the tabernacle of David (i.e., his family would rule as king), all nations (not just one nation) will be called by God's name. This is quoted in Acts 15:13-18 to show Gentiles could be saved on the same conditions as Jews.

Genesis 26:4 - God made great promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (12:3; 22:18; 28:14). He said their descendants would become a great nation and receive the land of Canaan, and also that through their descendants all nations would be blessed.

This is fulfilled in Jesus who came as the Messiah and offered forgiveness to all people of all nations (Gal. 3:8,16; Acts 3:25f). Note that this blessing was to come through Abraham's descendants, but it was to come to people of all nations.

This was the last of the three promises to Abraham. When it was fulfilled at Jesus' death, there was no longer any reason for Israel to have any special status in God's plan. All promises to national Israel have been fulfilled.

Matthew 28:19f; Mark 16:15f - Salvation is now available to all people from all nations in the whole world on the basis of the same conditions. He who believes in Jesus Christ  will be saved.

Isaiah 2:2,3 - When the Lord's law went forth from Jerusalem and His house would be established, all nations would flow into it. This is fulfilled in the New Testament church, which is the Lord's house (1 Tim. 3:15). Gentiles as well as Jews may enter (Eph. 2:11-20). [Hos 2:23; 1:9,10; cf. Rom. 9:25,26; 1 Pet. 2:10]

[Also cf. Isa. 42:1ff to Matt. 12:18ff; Isa. 65:1 and Deut. 32:21 to Rom. 10:19f; Isa. 11:10; Psa. 18:49; 2 Sam. 22:50; Deut. 32:43: Psa. 117:1 with Rom. 15:9-12; Luke 4:24-34]

Jesus was considered Jewish, and also were the Jews that followed Him, both having faith in the One God. These Jews are the ones that believed the Gospel of Jesus the Christ. But this was Jesus the man that was Jewish, not Jesus the Christ. He was born Jewish in order to draw Jews unto Himself and in order to be able to teach the Gospel to the Jews. Jesus the Christ taught first the Jew and then the Gentile. This was first cause of Unity between Jew and Gentile of which has yet to be realized.

He taught the Gospel and not Jewish traditions to the Jew first and then the Gentile, He taught in synagogue and in the temples. The point is that Jesus’ Faith was in God and not religion. Jesus the Christ as Jew & Christian is a new Creature.

?

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor un-circumcision, but a new creature.

And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God

All the surronding cultures which accepted gods, had this belief. One reason why Gentiles were easy to attract to Christianity, in the 2nd and third centuries; they identified with the same beliefs.

Thank you AC for this link. You and all Pagans who distenced yourselves from G-d of Cretion, have also distenced yourselves from humanity.

Maybe one day you shall become a Christian?
