Discuss MikeC's answer to: Best Religion

Which religion should I convert to?

NJOY  You said,  "We, who are their descendants, are not as simple minded"  as Adam and Eve.   I beg to differ with you on this,  I believe we are more simple minded than either Adam or Eve.    All we have today is better toy's and the next generation will have better toy's than us.   Reading books, having a degree,   having the best toy's, that does not make for a more mature experienced person.   Knowing how to live, love, laugh,  communicate with others,  make commitments, stand by them such as marriage and children and family.   To  create,  bring harmony,  have patience and understanding, having people that admire you.   When you can do all these things and bring joy to your life along with others,  That is the  truly educated.     Many generations before us accomplished all of these things better than we do today.   Look at the divorce rate,  child suicides,  rape,  the people with all the money and so called educated that are so unhappy.  You see it everyday in the news and with the people around you.    No NJoy,   I believe we are less experienced in the true meaning of life and more simple minded,  more now than ever.     We live closer today than ever and are more isolated than ever in history.

Nothing is as it seem's.

Yechielshlipshon Thinks this answer is Helpful:

Dear AC; Yechiel Shlipshon ben Phisal Avraham HaLevi

These words spoke in the scripture below come from the mouth of the Lord God Almighty Himself, Jesus Christ.

John 8.31 - 8.59

They (the jews) answered him, (Jesus) "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do what Abraham did, but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God; this is not what Abraham did. You do what your father did."

They (Jews) said to him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God."  Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me,.

Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word.  You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

But, because I tell the truth, you do not believe me.  Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? He who is of God hears the words of God; the reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God."

Njoy. AC, Because you are trampling on the very Word, and because you do not fully understand that other person's heart/mind...you are making a judgement call on them, and that is a sin.

"for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (v. 45). We CAN judge the heart by what proceeds from the mouth. The words spoken are the fruit of the state of the heart.

God commands us, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1). It cannot be clearer. God's people are to judge between false and true prophets. And we SHALL be able to know whether they are from God.

How shall we know? After all, we can't read people's minds. We can't directly see people's hearts. No, but Jesus states that we can judge the heart by judging the direct channel that comes from the heart: the mouth. After stating that "every tree is known by his own fruit" (Luke 6:44), Jesus states what that fruit is: "for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh" (v. 45). We CAN judge the heart by what proceeds from the mouth. The words spoken are the fruit of the state of the heart.

Njoy. AC, My belief, my truth, comes from God through Christ, and I most certainly do believe the words of Christ, but not all of the words accredited to Jesus in the added scripture called the New Testament , were actually His.

We have very few literal words of the peasant from Nazareth.  His followers were not erroneous in their posting of the words they said he said, but the truth is:  We have very very few of his actual words, the bulk of his new testament words were not actually uttered by him.

                  No sin in learning AC.

You are deceived, you are wrong!  Every word that Jesus spoke in the Bible is the word of God.

You can not understand or believe BECAUSE,

(John 7:24). "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

Let me explain, You will not believe or understand but for those seeking the truth I will explain anyway.

John 1:1,2
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God.

First, let me make it clear that God is talking about "the beginning," the first thing that happened. This is not at the creation of the world, or the universe. It was before that. This is about God having a Son! When God says beginning, He means the "absolute beginning."

Scripture says, In the beginning was the Word" and "the Word was with God." God is a spirit. (In the beginning was the Word)  everything that is came from within Him.

Then its says "and the Word (that was with God) was God." Jesus is God, an exact reproduction of God Himself. How? By the separation of particles, an exact reproduction (not a new creation) took place, without diminishing the original.

Jesus is identical to God

John 1:2
The same was in the beginning with God.

The same is Jesus. He is the same as God! The same was with God in the beginning! This is why we can say that Jesus is God. He is God the Father, and God the Son. He is simply God in the Son.  Jesus is an exact reproduction of God Himself. He is God (equal with God) only He is in the position of a Son! God the Father did everything for and through His Son!

1. In the beginning was the Word (God ), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God.

2. The same (Jesus) was in the beginning with God.

In John vs 1 the Word is Jesus and was made flesh so that he could die on the cross for mankind (his very own creation). In the book of Revelation chapter 19 starting in vs 13 - And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

I don't feel you are complicated or complex., I do feel you are confused however.

Salvation is a relationship; a relationship where you become a child of the heavenly Father. Either you are a child of God or else you are a child of the Devil. Believing that Jesus is real is NOT enough. Even the demons believe that Jesus exists... “...the DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE, and tremble” (James 2:19). You must not only acknowledge that Jesus is the Savior—you must personally BELIEVE on Him to forgive your sins. You must decide for yourself to rely 100% upon Christ to forgive your sins and save you. Only Jesus died on the cross for you. Only Jesus shed His blood for you. Only Jesus has the nail-scarred hands and feet.

Salvation is of the Lord. My part is only to believe, and God does the rest. Salvation is receiving, not giving. Eternal life is a free gift, paid for by Jesus redeeming blood sacrifice (Hebrews 9:12; 1st Peter 1:18-19). If that soul believes upon the Lord Jesus Christ... “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...” (Romans 16:31).

"Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? Amen ac, I do believe this to be true.

Salvation is a relationship;Amen to that ac! a relationship where you become a child of the heavenly Father.absolutely and completely His Either you are a child of God or else you are a child of the Devil. Salvation is of the Lord.INDEED ac, this is most certainly true.  It is by the Grace of God that we are saved....Saved from ignorance and blindness, saved to live within Him and He within us My part is only to believe,(not just believe AC, but believe wholeheartedly) and God does the rest. Salvation is receiving, not giving.(absolutely and most assuredly ac) Eternal life is a free gift, paid for by Jesus redeeming blood sacrifice (Hebrews 9:12; 1st Peter 1:18-19). If that soul believes upon the Lord Jesus Christ... “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...” (Romans 16:31).

(and there is much that is implied by, as MikeC says, reading between the lines)  I think AC, my deeper understanding (and perhaps my language) came from "the white spaces" as MikeC calls them.  It is there...the depth of the message, but it is subtle and easily overlooked.  I can't describe it or explain it to you.  It is a personal discovery.  My speech fails me in trying to share with you the glory of it all, as I now understand it.  God Bless You, through me and my words AC.  Take care of yourself and love your neighbor as yourself.

NJOY You said, " That is okay, but I can't continue trying to explain something as complex as my feelings/thoughts/ideas/information/influences... to you."(well mikec, i really do not think you and i can connect in this way.  i've failed to explain myself well enough to you, and i suspect it is because we come at this from vastly different angles)

I don't feel you are complicated or complex., I do feel you are confused however. (i understand it can sound confusing to some who have yet to understand fully the truth of the matter.  i made the mistake of thinking your thinking was closer than it is.  no problem.  it just is)

That is just my opinion, Oh well, I am still a friend if you want me to be. GBY MikeC   ( i feel that i am friends with all who post here mikec, and i count you among them, but as far as discussions on this subject, i fear we cannot go there.  our ideas are not compatible at this time.)  again, no problem...it just is what it is...)

Njoy comment, The Biblical explanations are welcome and the truth is in them...however...these are stories that teach a larger truth and are not to be taken literally.

Doesn't sound wholeheartedly to me.Wholeheartedly means to believe everything Jesus Christ said in scripture IS the word of God. ALSO, Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, God Almighty, NOT a peasant from Nazareth.
