God is nobody. What makes you think the only real source of knowledge about the Christian god, which is the Bible, has any merit whatsoever? It is an ancient text written by people who had a totally different perspective than modern man. They explained humans and cosmos in the best way they could but that has been supplanted by modern science. Get with folks. Reality rules.

Phys: It is true, God has NO body, because God is Spirit.  We are His body.  We do His work.  Spirit, lives in us, and Divine Spirit is LOVE.  The real source of knowledge about God IS in the Bible, but the knowledge is not "known" by all.  Not all people are willing to read the Bible as Holy Scripture.  You are one of those.  It doesn't make you wrong, it just keeps you from being fully informed.  It doesn't make those who do read  the Bible better, it just makes them more fully realize a truth you have yet to acknowledge.  God has no physical body, that is why Jesus was born.  To demonstrate  to us that God can and does live within humanity...us...

Truth you say, NJOY. Are you here because of biological and psychological laws and evolution or because of a divine plan of some sort? Your Christian god has not demonstrated anything to anybody has he? 

Dear NJOY--Some mammals like yourself seem to think they should be governed by theocratic principles rather than man made laws, science and politics that separate religion from state. Examples include the late Crusaders and current day Muslims as well as southern bible belt people that try to influence education with their theocratic views. 

I got here the same way you got here Phys.  You are human, and so am I.  We evolved into the beings we are today through millions of years.  I see God all over that evolution.

Man  made laws come out of theocratic principals.

I see God in all of science.

I believe firmly in separation of church/religion and state.  I believe in personal freedom, in every area of my life.  I also see God in that.

My view of the Crusaders/overzealous Muslims/and hardcore Bible Belt people:   Misguided and fearful of change.

They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God  alone."

St. Paul foresaw the spreading influence of the false prophets of the New Age: "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons." (1 Tim. 4:1). The Apostle also warned: "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itchin ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths." (2 Tim. 4:3-4).

The deluded and spiritually starved souls who follow New Age teachers are, each and all, people for whom Christ died and rose again. If people are rushing heedlessly toward the edge of a spiritual cliff, it is a spiritual work of mercy to warn them loudly, even if this means offending them.

Christ loves those who have fallen into the New Age trap; dare we, who are members of His Body, do otherwise?

New Agers do not speak of a source of authority. If such is referred to, it is not an external authority but an internal one. In the New Age Movement, the individual is considered to be the standard of truth. New Age proponent Shirley MacLaine reveals the supposed power of the individual when commenting, "It's all my dream. I'm making all of it happen -- good and bad -- and I have the choice of how I'll relate to it and what I'll do about it."

MacLaine goes on to say, "Perhaps everyone has his own truth, and truth as an objective reality simply does not exist."The Scriptures, on the other hand, present objective truths.

They are inspired (literally, "God-breathed"); therefore, they can be fully relied on.The fact of the inspiration of the Scriptures is seen in 2 Timothy 3:16: "All Scripture is inspired by God, and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training irighteousness. The method of inspiration is seen in 2 Peter 1:21: "No prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."The extent of inspiration is seen in Matthew 5:18: "For truly I say to you," said the Lord Jesus Christ, "until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished."So no individual is left to himself and his inner feelings as final authority; the Bible serves as this objective standard.

FR: Exactly.... "God" is Nobody. Since "God" Is Infinite Consciousness / Awareness... THAT One IS Formless ...however, being Infinite can also take on ANY form That One so chooses. For instance, Infinite Consciousness has chosen to take on the FORM of this entire Universe.. and everything in it.
Much like a dream that has no actual form but is still a very real 'experience' of the mind... this so called "Physical" reality has no actual FORM... think String Theory here. All here is nothing but extremely subtle strings of vibrating energy. At the sub sub atomic level there is NO difference in anything...and resolves back into FORMLESS Infinite  Consciousness /Awareness... ie: "God".

The mind of man IS finite and so gets stuck in the reality of Either / Or. Infinite Consciousness on the other hand is not affected by such paradoxes... and can be BOTH This OR That... Both... OR Neither... simultaneously. This is why the finite mind of man is incapable of Realizing "God".... or as I like to point out.. Do the Math.... the mind of man IS finite, while THAT which is the Source of mind IS Infinite.
It is not until we, to say, our Awareness, is able to Transcend the mind, which is contracted Awareness, ... that one can truly KNOW "God"... our all inclusive SELF.
Whatever the finite mind THINKS "God" / Infinite Consciousness is must ALWAYS fall short of that ultimate and constant Reality which permeates and acts as the support for ALL changing, temporary, experiential realities.
"God" is THAT which is BOTH Immanent AND Transcendent .. so truly Infinite.

As NJoy suggests.... Truth IS everywhere for those who have the "eyes" to see it. The fully Realized mind can perceive the hidden Truth in the Bible, or ANY Scripture, by reading "between" the lines as it were. Truth Absolute is actually HIDDEN from the finite mind... for a reason. The moment we get to perceive the reason... that is a Comic Ahh Haaaa moment... and all becomes clear.. but NOT before then. You are playing a cosmic game of Hide and Seek.. with your own SELF, and seekers eventually do become Finders... it is a process.
Truth Absolute can also be found on the back of a Special K cereal box ... since the actual Essence of everything here IS Formless Divine Consciousness... which the non-local MIND gives FORM to.
Consider ...... There are words on the page of a book only because the Mind projects those words onto that page. In fact, ultimately speaking... there is no book but only Consciousness taking the FORM of that book... MUCH like we experience a book in a dream.
The mind is the creative tool of "God". Try and point to something which is NOT "God" .. it is impossible. It is all a matter of Perception. Just as a color blind person cannot perceive the color RED, even when it is right in front of them... so too "God" , our own Infinite Consciousness is ALL around us.. even IS US.. and yet the contracted mind is (typically) unable to perceive THAT until we are able to Transcend the mind and Realize THAT which is the actual essence of everything here. That FORMLESS ONE.. which takes on ALL these FORMS, via the mind.
~ "God" dwells within you AS you ~ It is a matter then of Realizing who/what we TRULY are... our actual Essence, which is far more than what we THINK we are.
My advice?  Do not trust the subjective finite mind.. it is VERY unreliable.  Rather, find THAT which is the Source of mind... and your True SELF.

NJOY and Faith--Truth comes from evidence, not faith. 

What evidence is there that god is seen all over evolution or string theory or science or laws or the man written Bible? Do these claims of NJOY and Faith seem to be presuppositions based on wishful thinking or extrapolations from the Bible about an all powerful creator god? Hasn't this god be discredited in many scholarly works that assures there is no god returning to Earth as the ancient writings about stories indicated?

"Truth comes from evidence" I can agree with you Phys, and in the case of God(Spirit) people like you need concrete evidence. Evidence you can touch/feel/prove...tangible proof. Well, God is Spirit, and the fact that Spirit is not concrete/tangible does not mean that Spirit does not exist. Just mull it over in your mind for a bit. Let your own spirit connect to this truth. There is no shame in admitting that you simply couldn't see it that way before, but now you can. Welcome to the real world Phys.
