Discuss samuside's answer to: Best Religion

Which religion should I convert to?

Jesus was asked point blank if He is the Son of God and in all four Gospels He affirmed He is, this is what the Clergy called blasphemy and condemned Him to die. The Prophets were murdered for preaching judgment against the idolatress Jews, although Jesus did the same, His acknowledging to be God and the Son of God is what they erroneously accused Him of blasphemy for and worthy of death (Jesus did not blasphemy, it was a mock trial to get what they wanted; His death. If it were not for accusing Pilate of being an enemy of Caesar, Pilate would have let Jesus go). Why do Muslims want to limit God, to post that He would not produce a Son, when His power to create is limitless? How did Allah have two daughters?

The Bible declares that God would have a Son and that He would use a woman to give birth to Him. God did exactly as He told Isaiah He would do by using Mary to mother His Son; sperm was not used, the power to do miracles (Gr. Dunamis) was (Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14). God used Mary to give birth to the physical body He used to dwell in (His choice) to reconcile sinful humanity to Him (through the death and resurrection of the body); the body was not God, the Spirit that dwelt in the body (Jesus) is. The body had an identity of His own, but by virtue of the fact that the body is God’s Son by inheritance makes the Son God as a biological life form just as being a son of a king makes the son royalty, Jesus being God’s Son makes Him deity and equal (not coequal) with God; God CAN DO THIS and did.

Jesus is worthy of the reverence do Him for being willing to die for our sins to be forgiven; when a person is born again they will know this without question or a negative response. The Bible declares that someday everyone in heaven and in earth will bow their knee to Him (even unregenerate sinners, those who do not receive Jesus as Lord and Savior of their life). “Who,being in the form of God, thought it notrobbery to be equal with God, But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow , of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”(Philippians 2:6-11)

It is not blasphemy to call God's Son God; God did it and so do we Psalms 45:6-7 “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever: the scepter of your kingdom is a rightscepter.You love righteousness, and hate wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows. The thing a person should fear is eternal fire for rejecting His Son as Lord and Savior of your life. Psalms 11:5-7 "The LORD tries the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates. Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and a horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. For the righteous LORD loves righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright."

Dear Sam;l

The thing you should fear is the curse you bring upon yourself, for cursing us by rejecting what G-d told us to reject.

Now, if you want to be saved, repent.

Shalom;

Yechiel

Sam, Yechiel and everyone else--Fact is, Jesus was condemned to die because he failed to prove to the people on the ground that he was not full of bogus claims. Even neutral historians of the time did not report god was with the people on earth. Don't you think that would have been big news my friends? I have to join with Yechiel and add that the Jews and Romans were not dummies. They would have recognized a god walking and talking among them.

Physicalist Come on, get a history book would you. Caesar and many others declared themselfs to be god's. Roman walking and talking gods among us. The Jews did not do that however. They new better. In my opinion, the Jews just did not recognize there own prophecies when it hit them in the nose. God did not do as they though He would do again. I am not sure God ever did what the Jews thought he would do. Undecided

Is Sam bringing a curse upon himself? Did God tell the Jews to reject Jesus Christ?

You stated;

 You are aware that if it was not for the large number of Jews who did follow Jesus, one of the Pagan examples of a salvatory faith could have made it.

Saying we did not recognize our own prophasies is an old canard used to confuse the issue. We did, do, and shall continue to do so.

As we read from many Christians, they only have to believe to know, then listen to the nearest preacher for what to believe.

We do not have this luxury! We have kept one promise among many others we kept, which puts the idea in its' proper place; to do as He commanded, and to learn-study his way.

Why we are the first people to have universal education. In the 18th and the 19th centuries, Europe and its' colonies caught up.

Shalom;

Yechiel You understand I don't agree with your interpretation of Isaiah. That is OK, I know you don't believe in my interpretation of Jesus. That is just the way it is. I did not say the Jewish people did not do the world a lot of good. I just stated that G_d did many things that you(the Jewish people) never thought he would do. Things that you never expected him to do. GBY MikeC

Dear Mike;

Our Prophets already predicted what would happen. That part most Christians like. However, what many would not like is that there are several  predictions of the same things occuring, also with Non-Jewish oirgins. HaShem, not a Prophet told us this at Sinai, but we were reminded of them as time passed.

As the Sun sets in the West, the many Cultures could almost set back and watch their several godsons rise up to the heavens. We listen to all of them, as we are today, and made our decisioin to stay with what He gave us, to do as He told us.

However, we did give your faith a boost, by being the majority stock holders for three centuries. Then, there was aggrisive take-over by the Gentile subsidies, and the rest is (permitted) history.

When you read or hear comments like you said, above, about the Jews did or did not do such and such, think of sales pitches and sour grapes, combine.

I think the English word for it is-politics.

Mike, thank you for your input and feed back. You do help this old Yehudi to think.

Shalom;

Yechiel

LOL>>>LOL....Yechiel! These words in your above comment should be repeated and taken to heart by many reading/posting here:"

Attn: Yechielshlipshon

I'm having trouble finding any other Culture or religion that make claims of a godson rising up to the heavens. Would like to have this information for it is not in accord with my understanding. It's the rising up to heaven that I am having trouble with.
