Discuss MikeC's answer to: Best Religion

Which religion should I convert to?

The infinite did not create more infinite for the sake of having more of one's own self. There would be no logic in this type of assumption. We have a separate identity from the infinite for a reason. That reason is not to find out that we are a part of God but rather to believe in a creating God along with the free will that goes with it. God will intercede or interject with us spiritually and help us to understand Him but in order to be one with Him, we first need to make that choice. In my view, Christ Jesus is that choice. Does that leave all other choices out ? I do not have the power to make that decision so I will simply say the rest is all up to God. If God wills it, He wills it. As I see it, God and Christ are one in the same so I could say if Christ wills it, He wills it. Christ forgave everyone at his death so who am I to say who he forgives or who he does not. I don’t care to know, I will find that out soon enough. GBY MikeC

Yechiel posts: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself .

FR: A perfect teaching.... which MUST be contemplated deeply to be fully appreciated ... so that we can discover who WE really are and so who our Neighbor really is.

..............................................

Where the dualistic mind differentiates between "God", our 'individual' self , and our neighbor's individual 'self' ..... "God" does not. Once we REALIZE that they are all the same ONE at their core Essence.. it is EASY to follow "God's" command... but BEFORE that understanding takes hold.. it is basically impossible. Not that we should not TRY ... and in that trying THE Truth IS eventually revealed. We ARE of the same Divine Essence as our Neighbor... much like we are all the players in our own dreams.

Whatever our intellectual understanding is of "God's" words ... we can ALWAYS take that understanding deeper .

~

I love the analogy of an onion... where we are able to keep peeling away the layers until we eventually reach the center... where there is the most clarity.

The outer layers hold the "truth of the morning"... later, as we dig more deeply we come to the 'truth of the afternoon,... and finally we arrive at the truth of the evening... and are able to grasp the WHOLE "onion".     : )

Dear Mike;

I essentially agree with you. We are born essentially with no pre-conceived good or evil in us, just the impulse to do either.

Aside from this, there are our basic instincts and what we learn, which helps to determine how we use our impulses. In this case, we are a blank screen, with the material needed to produce the film. With time, the story of each life plays out by external and internal influences. May all of yours be happy ones.

Shalom;

Yechiel says:  As with all developments, there is a period of adjustment, as we figure out "Where the f are we".Undecided So patience is in order, and love and respect is needed,

OH MY, njoy,!!! Do you mean to say that you are still preaching -- on your own personal unsupportable and discredited "authority," that exists to your dull cult, boring existence, bitterness, intense dogmatic indoctrination, and panicky self, that only  fools believe in? ::Pardon yet another rude snicker:: You can't be serious about that. You really are simpleminded and timid, aren't you? Most losers are. ::Pardon yet another very rude snicker:

Dear Friends;

The above post is the name of someone else, but the words are the words of someone we all know.

Now, let us concentrate on that which is good and G-dly.

 It only takes reading one post such as RC's to realize just what a great sense of humor "God" has.    ; )

Rocmike do you really believe that the stereotypes you post under would actually post that way. Model, black man, biker, Jewish person to name a few. Rocmike give it a break.

Yechiel/faith     I don't believe much of what faith is trying to convey. I think it has more holes in it than a screen door. It blocks out much of the light but the wind goes right threw it. This idea of subjective vs. dualistic thinking to me is a far fetched theory that never got off the ground let alone to be considered valid. This idea doesn’t last because it simply does not hold water. To change or infer that the name God or Christ should be undermined by a made up name of "grace bestower" is insulting to say the least. This term "grace bestower" is simply a ploy to undermined the importance of the God of Abraham. The one true God/Christ !

Dear MikeG-d gives what He has because He is G-d; we accept or have not received what He gives based on our Free Will.

Once we get past the language, and concentrate on the concepts, the "Screen Door" does not look so bad.So she has a different way to see what He does;.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, ‘Has God indeed said, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden”?’ And the woman said to the serpent, ‘We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, “You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.”’

Then the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”
