Which religion should I convert to?
There is a difference between making a decision and making a judgment. Example, Christ said to his apostles if you are not welcome in a home, dust off your feet and leave. (I paraphrase) That is a decision, that is not a judgement. We make decisions about others actions all the time.. We want no part of them or we want to very much be part of them. Christ said, "every one of you who judges another is inexcusable." This is not me talking. "With God, there is no favoritism" Take heed, what else is said, " But there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who has done good, likewise the Jew first, then the Greek. "
I posted this:
"When Gentiles who do not have the law keep it as by instinct, these men all though without the law serve as a law for them selves. They show that the demands of the law are written in their hearts. Their conscience bears witness together with that law, and their thoughts will accuse of defend them on the day when, in accordance with the gospel."
I am a firm believer in Christ. I do proclaim him to be my Lord God. I also know that I cannot tread on his territory. All final judgements are His. The words here that stands out, is the word "instinct" "Law are written in their hearts." Again, those are not my words. Some people may not believe in Christ or God. Who know’s, we may have been very poor teachers. Look at all the end fighting within every religion. Only God understands the heart. "Written in their hearts" Does this mean I can’t say what I believe ? Not at all, it is just telling you that in the final analogy we have no power for final judgements. We only make a decision based of what we know or understand. If we do not want to associate with another out of fear, misunderstanding, not the same beliefs, principles, etc. Just make the decision to dust off your feet and leave. G_d will handle the rest. Your beliefs are still in tact and you did what you where commanded to do. Besides, who know’s , someone in the future may make a better impression than we did. Oh my gosh ! Better than us ? How could that be ?
Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
?
Judge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.
"He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD" (Proverbs 17:15). "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment" (John 7:24).
Justifying the wicked has nothing to do with final judgement along with the condemning of the just. Human justice and the judgements of God are two very and distinct differences. Reason and logic tells us to stay out of God's judgmental business. Not judging is written abundantly in the Bible. Even your quote by John. "righteous judgement" only means as you would perceive another as you would liked to be perceived yourself if you where in there shoes. "fairly" This quote you use by John has nothing to do with heavenly judgments except on how you will be judged in the end times. That judgement will not be by man ! The quote you posted, may be by Christ but the decision on how it is being used is yours.
This last line on how we use the quotes by Christ is by decision. How we make our decisions is on how we perceive things. Our decisions can be wrong but the verse is still the truth as written.
Most of the debates on here our based on our perception on how we read the written word vs., how we understand it’s meaning. To say there can only be one meaning is just plain false !
Understanding this, leaves for open and honest discussion. Just knowing that my decision could be a wrong one and looking to see the perspective of another. Others may have thoughts you never dreamt of. Knowing that you personally can be wrong leaves the door open to others, this contributes to the fact that others our welcome into your house. There thoughts our welcome in your house. Again, the decision on who comes in, is yours. Not everyone is welcome under the pretext of "righteous judgement." As you would like to be treated.
"The disciples came to Him and asked, 'Why do you speak to the people in parables?' He replied, 'The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven HAS BEEN GIVEN TO YOU, but not to them..." (Matt.13:10-11).
"This is why I speak to them in parables: 'Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.' " (Matt.13:13-15)
Anonymous do you feel my eyes and eares are closed ?
Yes I do. When I say that Jesus is the ONLY way, the ONLY truth and the ONLY life and that apart from knowing Jesus as God, you will not go to heaven, I am not being a bigot as NJOY and others accuse me of being. I am not judging those who do not believe what God says, Gods word is judging them. I am not saying something new, but just reiterating (posting) what God says through the Bible. It is not me talking, It's Jesus Christ talking through His word I post. Thus, your arguments are with God, not me.
John 15:18-21 Jesus Christ talking," If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you... because they do not know Him who sent Me."
Njoy This AC needs to be ignored. Nothing will be gained by listening to him.
Yechielshlipshon Dear Mike; What do you expect from a bigot? Ignore this dirt on our screens. GBY
Mark 8:38 “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes....” 2 Timothy 4:16-17 "... no one stood with me, but all forsook me... But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me..."
