Discuss MikeC's answer to: Best Religion

Which religion should I convert to?

Anonymous    You asked me what I read in that scripture.  Because of yechiel's response,  I am going to respond to the last line of your post,   first.    Jesus said,  as you quoted,  "If God were your Father,  you would love me,  for I proceeded and came forth from God;   I came not on my own accord, but he sent me. "

What I take from this line is,  as I have said in my previous posts.  The spirit of God without substance is limitless on what he can do.  God through his own spirit manifested his thoughts through the flesh of Jesus.   When Jesus talked,  it was God also talking.  "Part" of God's own spirit became the human voice of God.  Hence,  the son of God.   The same God that always was and alway's will be.   You quoted Jesus as saying,  "If God were your Father,  you would love me,"       That line as it means to me is,  Jesus is saying,  I am the Father,  I am one with the father ( spiritually speaking),  how ever you look upon me, however you treat me, however you love me.  What ever you do to me,  you are doing to the Father.    Not to be redundant,  but the mind (thoughts) of Jesus where the thoughts of God here on earth.   Jesus was the anointed one, the spirit of God in the flesh of Jesus.    GBY  MikeC

P.S.  Yechiel       As you have said in your last post about Abraham being the receptacle of God.   Jesus was also the receptacle and transmittter of the words of God.

Dear Mike;

OK. I still see it from the past historical perspective; we, a nation, recieved His way-Torah- to hold in trust for humanity. Jesus's Gentile followers, the Jewish ones were killed off in the 4th century, received His teachings from a Jew, to pass on to the Nations. Problem has been that education, until receintly, has not been available on an universal basis, so a lot of ignorance came with it. Not Christian basis, but cultural, and the teachings of Jesus are just now beginning to be known and studied on a wide basis.

You are not going to correct this issue over night, but with self-respect, compassion, and stopped pointing of fingers at each other, in a couple of generations your faith can rise to this challenge, and rightfully share-not convert-with the world how we can make earth better, His way.

Then, the prophecies of the prophets shall come true. But, first, education that is honest, and motivates people to think.

When we received His Word from the Mount, all of the souls of Israel were present, and we vowed to do and to learn. My soul included. Do His will, and when we have time, learn how each one can do it better. Why for 3 thousand years, we had universal education, and why we have it culturally to use what we have to further our resources, and to make use of what we have.

Abram was receptive to G-d, not a receptical as you state. It, receptical, comes to each of us, as we do His will. Njoy and Faith have done a good job, and you are also up there, but although you know that our faiths are different, and Jews should not be missed with, you still hold onto the symbols of your faith's past. Some are good and needed, some deserve a good house cleaning.

I know how that is, I have done so myself. As for those who have not, who knows, maybe in the future...

Shalom;

Yechiel

Yeah Mike, you know Jews should not be missed with, but they can do anything to us,.. after all, look what Jesus said, Jesus said "You do what your father did." They (the jews)said to him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God." 42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me.

Yechiel    This is in the New Testament and this verse cut's both way's for everyone..  " If you forgive the faults of others,  your heavenly Father will forgive you yours.  If you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive you.  (Mat. 6:14)  I know we all want to be right, but we are not.  We are all vulnerable to what Sam likes to say  "error".    Maybe if we would recognize our own faults first,  we would not be so quick to fault others.

Dear Mike;

Does your above remark come under the heading of respect? I have advocated for this, also, I have stated that I shall share what I know to be more accurate information, on my faith, culture and religion, where the posts may be a little of key. No critisim of the individual is meant, as all have a right to their beliefs. As you may have read, I also expressed that it is not showing respect to be calling people names, as Satan, or to down another religion. Where the truth, acording to what is written, is stated, I have noticed a reluctance to listen by some posters. You at least have the competance to read and respond in honestly and respectfully. Thank you, you have helped to set a standard we all can follow. Be nice if we all would.

By the way, Have you had your Mitzva, today?Innocent

Shalom;

Yechiel

Ben Yosef     You said, "You still hold onto the symbols of your faith's past."   Your faith is a lot older than mine,   Are you sure that it not your symbols of long past,  that you are holding on to that is the problem  ?    No disrespect here,  I believe there is a flip side to every coin.   The ironic part of all this is that as a Christian we believe that your past is our past.   The past is the past and there is nothing we can do about it other than learn from it.

Mike, does your above remark come under the heading of respect? I am Jewish, yechiel is Jewish. All have a right to their beliefs. I share what we Jews know to be more accurate information of His word,  We received His Word from the Mount, all of the souls of Israel were present, and we vowed to do His will. As Yechiel has told you, You know we are G-ds Chosen People and Jews should not be missed with.

You are being disrespectful saying it is your way only.

Mike, We received His Word from the Mount,  and we vowed to do His will.  We Jews have no bad symbols of long past. As Yechiel has told you, You know we are G-ds Chosen People and Jews should not be missed with. It is disrespectful of you to even ask a Jew that question.

All have a right to their beliefs and we respect your beliefs. What we Jews know is more accurate information of His word. I must go now. You have disrespected me with your question. You should listen to Yechiel and learn.

Shalom;

Ben Yosef
