What is God's name? I am who I am is not a name ...

What is God's name? I am who I am is not a name. The Bible speaks of God and Lord but there are many Gods and lords. Even Satan is considered a God. It speaks of Lord Jesus but when he speaks to his Father...Father has to have a name.

Why would God need a name?  Names are what we use to tell things apart.  Now if you had two gods, then you have to name them to tell them apart.  If there is only one, a name would be superfluous.  When God talks to you, or you answer, you already know who is speaking and who you are talking to.  No caller ID necessary.

(1) Satan is a God?  It does not say this.  Perhaps maybe an idol in a passage in the new testament that I am far from an expert in, but I don't see that in the old.

(2) G-d has no name and he makes that clear in the bible.  Both Cabalistic Rabinic Judaism and Christianity get carried away with the "word" of G-d.  This is the absolute worst aspect of Monotheism and is the root of all our problems today.  G-d has no name.  We are not in search of it like Cabalistic Rabinicalism and unlike Christianity we don't have a clue what it is and this is G-d's way of saying, "don't objectify me".  He is giving a warning.  You are welcome to have faith in whoever you want to be the messiah, but don't think you know.  There is nothing objective in faith.  He is what he is.

It is his memorial

Exo 3:14 And Elohim said to Mosheh, "I am that which I am."1 And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Yisra’?l, ‘I am has sent me to you.’ " Footnote: 1The Heb?rew text reads: ’eyeh ’asher ’eyeh, the word ’eyeh being derived from hayah which means to be, to exist, but the Aramaic text here in v. 14 reads: ayah ashar ayah. This is not His Name, but it is an explanation that leads up to the revelation of His Name in v. 15, namely: יהוה. YHVH

Exo 3:15 And Elohim said further to Mosheh, "Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra’?l, ‘יהוה Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Ab?raham, the Elohim of Yitsh?aq, and the Elohim of Ya?aqob?, has sent me to you. This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.’

Joh 17:12 "When I was with them in the world, I was guarding them in Your Name which You have given Me, and I watched over them, and not one of them perished except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be filled

For those that say he never chose a name!

‘יהוה This is My Name forever, and this is My remembrance to all generations.’

But many have forgotten this name for LORD which is translated Baal

1. In Christian mythology, the satan is indeed described as "the god of this world"* - but the Christian devil is a far cry from ha satan in Jewish scripture. They are not the same creature. It's understandable that someone who has read Christian scripture would think that.

* 2 Corinthians 4:3-4: "But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded..." or "god of this world" depending on which of the various versions you want to choose from.

2. Apparently, G-d's name is "Jealous": "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous G-d." (Exodus 34:14).

Of being from the Episcopal faith and using the King James version of the bible, I have always known God's name to be Jehovah.

I sometimes call "g-d" Fredrick because "I am" was so impersonal.  He didn't like it though so I asked him if "Fred" was ok?

Many names have meanings it is the their reputation

a persons name is their Reputation.

YHVH will not share his name (reputatation) with another!

How can a name that say's i am that which i am have a place for another?

there is no we in the name i am that which i am it is a jealous name.

But we know that ancient Isreal went against their i am that which i am and worship other god besides YHVH and even mixed what was suposed to be Holy seprate and kept apart from the religions of man.

Isreal was being like the adversary (Ha Satan) of YHVH

I'm shocked that I agree with that concept Shema64

yes

a name is not a word as much as it is a reputation.  Actually all words are reputations, which takes the concept of conservative interpretation a moot point.
