Discuss roadie's answer to: Reduce Dog Hair?

I have an alaskan malamute and believe me his hair is all over the house! How often should I groom him to at least decrease the amount of hair that is spreading around the house?

I also have pets and to keep the hair down by combing them a couple times a week and it does help otherwise a haircut of course does the trick.
