Discuss Bri's answer to: Recipe for Matunke/Sauerkraut Cookies?

sauerkraut cookies, or matunke. Does anyone have a recipe?

I am unable to find a recipe with the name Matunke but here is one of the recipes I've found. If you could furnish the main ingredients such as chocolate, raisins, coconut...maybe I could give you a similar recipe with a different name. Please add more information to your question.

Sauerkraut Cookies
Servings: about 12 cookies
1 stick margarine or butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup well-drained and chopped sauerkraut
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup Hershey's unsweetened baking cocoa
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream margarine and sugar together; add egg and blend well.

Stir in sauerkraut and vanilla extract.

Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Stir into creamed mixture.

Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º F., for 10 minutes.
