In my opinion? Because it was a really stupid idea. And I live in Texas.

If a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, then that makes me a burning truck filled with TNT hurtling through a rocket fuel depot.

Because transporting the oil directly to Texas for export would actually INCREASE gasoline costs in the midwest...
