I have deep prejudices against blacks, hispanics and Jews. I know it is wrong and I have to put forth effort to be nice to them. I admit I do not mistreat them openly; but on the inside I do think  negative thoughts about them. I wish I could help myself; but prejudice is most human. I wish I could be a better person. Could anyone help me with this?

By recognition of this shortcoming, and by acting on it, you are becoming a better person.

Actions are more important than feelings. If you continue to treat these folks in an accepting, honorable way, then  your feelings will follow.

I am proud of you.

In addition to what Jay has written, if you are ready and willing, have you thought about the possibility of seeking professional help? There are so many things in life that we can't resolve by ourselves, believe me, I speak from experience.

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

In order to answer I would need to know why?
