That depends on what you consider fun... 

For looks, I think Femal Night Elves - because they look so good. It's just fun to watch them :)

For dancing, I think Male Trolls - the dance moves rock and the other movement animations are also some of the coolest for all the races.

For PVP, you'll have the most fun with undead rogues or warlocks. Can you say wotf? Plus, being undead and an evil rogue or warlock just seems so fitting :)

For factions rep grinding, it's most fun to play a Human - 10% extra rep ftw!

i would say that blood elves are the most fun to play and look the coolest in the entire game...they own night elves=P

I think gnomes are the cutest things EVER!! Just started a gnome lock and intend on leveling it all the way. For shear power I really like my 70 undead shadow priest.

They are so funny. If you go to youtube you can see who wow fashioned most of the dances after. Like the ogre was Chris Farley dancing on SNL like a Chippendales dancer.... very funny.

My favourite race is orc, using mapmod v2

I got to level 70 in a month. I also like humans however it is easier to level orcs. This in my opinion.

For fun I also recommend the Night Elves but I would think if you like to have fun playing this game especially for the first time, I suggest starting with a character that comes with a pet that will fight with you. They are: Warlock, Hunter & Death Knight (Wrath of the Lich King). They can fight at a distance with ranged weapons while your pet fights up close. Rogues & Druids can sneek around which helps to bypass enemies.
