Putting new vinyl siding over old on mobile home

Can you put new siding over old siding on a mobile home?//.We want to try it ourselves.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tj

i would take the aluminum off and put half inch osb on it then side over it

A friend of mine did the same thing with vinyl siding in Ottawa.  I think William is on the right track here; you'll want to do something about the aluminum before installing the vinyl.
