I rent and insure my appartment that I rent through my automobile insureance company. It also entitles me to a discount on my automobile insurance.
It's not public information, if its not your own property. However you can find out who the lienholder or mortgagee is by looking at the county deed and tax records. They would know who the insurer is, but they are not supposed to give out that information, so you would have to find a way to get that information out of them, and I can't tell you how to do that. A private investigator could find out using his own methods.
