Ultimately, this will depend upon the hardware specifications of your machine.  You can find out information about the system requirements for Windows Vista here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista#Hardware_requirements

If your machine meets these requirements, you will have no problem running Vista.
