How to print a PDF file, two-pages per printer-page ?

How can I print a PDF document so that the output will be: two pages (of the PDF) per one page on the printer?  like, side by side, at 50 percent size, like a book style?  Is there any program that can do so?  if not, can you suggest a smart process to do so, like, to export the PDF into 100 image files (one per PDF page), and then use Another program to print the 100 images, two-per-page, side by side?? Assume that I have a 400 pages PDF, that I want to print on 200 pages at half side.

I just tried to do it and it is very easy:

here are the steps:

get into file (left side) then  print setup

press on properties

press on more layout options

choose the first option "multiple pages per side" then choose "2" as the number

Voila!

Good luck - it worked for me

Yoav: I am afraid that you solution is printed-specific, and it simply does not work on my HP LaserJet 4050 printer.  Choosing "properties" brings me (and brings you too) to a printer-specific window, in which my printer (and many printers) do not show the option of "multiple pages per side".  Yoav -- kindly mention which printer you have; other readers, please suggest other methods that are not printer-dependent or that worked for you. Thanks!

Well,

in a way most printing solutions are printer specific, because they're usually based on the driver.

I'm not aware of any PDF application that can reformat the pages beforehand, so the printer driver would think of two pages as one.

So my suggestion would be to look into the HP support area and see if there are any newer drivers than the one you are using. Big chances are that a newer version could print two on one

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

1. Install free PDFCreator (adds a virtual printer) and select it as default printer

2. Execute "Print..." from your application (can be Office or any PDF Reader software)

3. On Printing window enter Properties , then Layout , and find section Pages per sheet

4. You nay select a number of pages to be printed on a single page
